Anthraco 2023
The anthraco2023 - 8th international Anthracology Meeting - will take place in the city of Porto from the 29th of August to the 2nd of September 2023, in a joint organization of CIBIO-InBIO-BIOPOLIS and the Natural History and Science Museum of the University of Porto.
Anthraco2023 will gather specialists in charcoal and wood analysis focusing on both archaeological and natural sedimentary contexts, within the broad themes of Human Paleoecology, Ethno-archaeology and Environmental History. State-of-the-art theoretical and methodological approaches in charcoal science either in site-studies or regional/extra-regional perspectives, as well as innovative experimental and laboratorial advances in dendroanthracology and related fields will surely make this a very stimulating meeting.
